Innocence

Well, the epitome of innocence are children. It’s said that children are angels on earth they see everything but respond only to the good ones.

So today my day started with my usual workout routine and today I was blessed to see some of the cutest kids of my society. It happened to be the sports day of a playschool which was being conducted in the park where I go every day for walking. Every day I meet a bunch of health-conscious people in the park but today was totally different.  The Park was filled with cute little angels in red and white uniforms and red monkey caps (resembles cute lil elves). Those kids gave me a very innocent look while I was passing by. That time I realised the true meaning of innocence, the innocence which we all had once, the innocence which made me think that everyone was good in this world and everything was always meant to be good.

When we are kids, we tend to know nothing about the world and we are always curious about learning the so-called facts and meaning of adulthood. But trust me each n every one of us feel that we want our childhood back why because we have all lost that innocence which was the best factor about childhood.

Those twinkling eyes filled with innocence forced me to ask a very deep question to myself that where did my innocence suddenly vanish??

It was rather a very tough question to answer because at that moment I realized that innocence is inversely proportional to maturity. The more you get matured in your life you tend to lose your sense of innocence because you tend to accept the reality of life.

But the jest of staying happy and contented still remains with the innocent feeling which all of us must have because that innocence always kept us alive every single moment and with this fast-pacing life we somewhere have lost it.

It’s time to bring the hidden innocence back to your life and go back to the childhood times where life was never tough and things were always merrier.

Bring the child back in you and stay happy forever……

Paragliding for the first time

For adventure lovers it’s cherry on the pie and for first timers it can be little scary.

So, what happens in Solang valley paragliding??

You take the cable car in a group of 4 and it takes you to the place where you will meet your guides. Your guides will take you the starting point and prepare you with all safety equipment and guidelines. Then you have to wait for your guide to do all the other preparations to fly, and all this take only 5 minutes. You will be so amazed by the preparations that the time will fly. Next the guide will attach all the equipment with your seat and he will be just behind you. Then he will tell you to run and jump off a steep cliff.

And you will be wondering in your mind whaaattt!!!! And by this fraction of second you will already be flying, it’s that fast guys!!! The ride is for 15 mins and that’s going to one of the most memorable 15 minutes in your life.

Imagine one your right side you have snow clad mountains, on your left side you have blue cloudy sky and beneath you are the coniferous forest, a beautiful river flowing and in front of you is the breathtakingly expansive Solang valley.

I wish I could fly forever !! that’s what I thought. It was so calming experience, there was a sense of peace and satisfaction in my mind. A sense of numbness in my ears because of the cold air, the cold air caressing my face and my soul.

Every one of you who wishes to fly should try this once at least. It’s a marvelous experience and a must do activity.

Was I Scared? NO, I was super excited and only for a second when my guide told me to jump, I felt scared.

The kids also loved the experience that they did it thrice, also the kids tried archery as well.

Don’t be scared just go for it, trust me you won’t regret it. It’s an amazing feeling which cannot be expressed but only felt.

Manali diaries

The roads from Delhi to Manali is pretty good and the highway is well maintained. There are few check posts in between which can consume your time in long queues otherwise there is no issue. There are plenty of Dhabas and restaurants on the way, you can munch something whenever you feel hungry.

The food we recommend are: Aloo paratha, Rajma chawal, Dal chawal, Chole puri & kucha chole. We recommend not to have Maggi on you first few days because later on that is the only food available throughout your trip.

The first pitstop was at Hanogi bridge at Mandi. This place is famous for its hanging bridge over river Beas which leads to a Devi temple perched on top of the hill. The temple is also famous for the breathtaking view of the valley and the river flowing underneath add to it. We visited this place because of the fascinating bridge we came across while passing the place.

We reached Manali around 5 pm and it was so pleasant to be surrounded by coniferous trees and mountains. Never I my life had I imagined to see the Himalayas so closely. It was almost dark by the time we reached our homestay.

We stayed in  Hampton Homestay at village shuru, Manali.

The next day began with treat to our eyes, at 6 am I wake up to see the mighty Himalayas behind our homestay. Also, the homestay was surrounded with Apple trees. My mind said wow!! And my heart was pounding with excitement to touch these apples.

Being born and raised in plateaus and coastal areas this was my first time in mountains. It was no less than a dream come true. This was just the beginning as I had no idea there were more wishes to be fulfilled during the trip.

We decided to explore Manali for the whole day and as the first place everyone visits in Manali is Mall road . Also, our major reason was to get permit for our rented car.

*Harrytinkers Tip: the queue for ladies is minimal so it’s better that a female member in the group goes to get the permit

We had amazing parathas from Aashiana pure veg restaurant in mall road and headed towards Himalayan Nyinmapa Monastery.

This was my first visit to a monastery and I found it very peaceful and beautiful. The colors they use is very bright because of that the monastery looks vibrant.

Next we headed for some adventure activities in Solang valley, famous for adventure activities like zorbing, paragliding , archery, ropeway, skiing, river rafting and horse riding.

Paragliding is the most adventurous activity during summers and skiing during winters. The rate for paragliding for adults is Rs 2000 /- (1500 for paragliding + 500 for ropeway) and for kids its Rs 600/-

UNEXPECTED GIFT

What happens when you awaited for something you wished for a long time and you get it so unexpectedly!!

Well I felt numb, I had replayed this happy moment so many times in my mind that when it actually happened I didn’t know how to react.

The extreme happiness turned to numbness and no feeling level!!!

I guess I wanted this happiness so badly that I m not able to express my happiness!!!!

I had thought of screaming with delight, calling all my loved ones, dancing with joy and now what I feel is nothing!!!

There is this feeling of peace which I feel right now it’s amazing,a sense of satisfaction and contentment.

I just feel like staying quiet and accept the moment 😃 and I am so happy that everything looks merry

Also it just started raining and I do believe rain as a blessing from the nature as a sign that the near and dear ones who have left this world are showering blessings on me.

The gratefulness I have currently for everyone who prays for me and who are my well wishers. And I also believe that if you pray you will definitely get them answered 😉

Universe works in gets best for you and most importantly whats meant for you .

Remember always if your prayers are not getting answered now ; it’s not your time yet , and believe me it will get answered when the time is right 😊

Faith and hope is everything!!!

Happy reading and have a nice and blessed day 😇😇😇

Acute Mountain Sickness : AMS and everything you need to know about it

Acute Mountain Sickness : AMS

I used to think that why is everyone stressing so much about AMS, when we started climbing uphill, when the altitude started increasing is when I realized what it felt like.

Acute mountain sickness is caused by reduced air pressure and lower oxygen levels at high altitudes.

Symptoms

It’s basically a heaviness in your head, feeling puckish, dizziness, digestion issues and shortness of breath for some people, you better take it seriously. Because you are going to travel through the highest motorable pass in the world.

A true incident

I was warned not to get over excited when we reach any high-altitude place, but who remembers the instruction when your adrenaline is rushing to the peak. So that what happened with me. When we reached the second highest pas Tanglang la (elevation 5,328 meters (17,480 ft), I got super excited and I wanted to take a picture with the board and I Ran.

I took the picture stayed there for 2 minutes and as soon a came back to the car: blackout

I fainted; the next point I remember is literally puking after drinking the pungent garlic water.

I had lost my consciousness because of AMS and my friends helped me regain my consciousness by taking away all the extra layer of clothing and making me drink the garlic water.it was not more than 2 mins so it’s ok.

After regaining my consciousness, I was feeling super drowsy so I dosed off for an hour and then I was feeling much better.

Tips

The best medicine to this is drink water in regular intervals and have proper sleep at night.

The locals say that Garlic is very helpful for combating AMS and its tried and tested: its true.

Camphor also helps to sustain oxygen levels to some extent.

It’s very very important to acclamatize with the altitude. So climb slowly.Dont try to cover more than 2000 ft per day.

Inform your group member if you feel any of the symtoms and dont take it lightly.

There are few medicines you can carry along as prescribed by the doctor. We had carried Diamox and a homeopathy medicine with us during the trip. Please consult your doctor for the dosage as it differs from person to person.

Disclaimer

It’s not as easy as it looks, don’t believe social media for the merry trip for Ladakh. It is super tiring if you are driving or not. You need to be physically fit in order to enjoy the trip. The place has different effects on different body types so you have to be careful about yourself.

One thing is guaranteed for sure: the beautiful and surreal landscapes will blow your mind and it will stay in your memories forever.

Moral of the story is : don’t get super excited as excitement generates adrenaline rush ; your heart starts beating faster; which needs more oxygen and there is shortage of oxygen in the environment, so you get AMS

Leh Ladakh trip

Leh Ladakh was on my list since a long time, I guess after watching 3 Idiots and lots of travel documentaries I realized that I really have to go this place before I get married. Well, if you ask me why this criteria because you never know what if you partner is not as trave enthusiast as you are, why take risk man!!

So, I, coming from a family where it’s little difficult for girls to convince their parents to go on a road trip, I somehow managed to convince my parents (I know they were very scared) to allow me to visit a no network area. I had to literally prepare them not to panic if they are not able to contact me for 12 days.

 Travelling with your friends is the best idea for this road trip. The first tip I would say is always travel in a group. Check out the below articles to know a detailed info about Leh Ladakh road trip;

Friendship

Well Friendship Day is here and it’s obviously  time to thank all those beautiful  people  in your life who have added different memories to your life with their presence ….

Well who is a friend?

A friend  can be anyone from a random person on the road  whom you have just met or a person  whom you know from your childhood…  Our friendship  starts from  the day we start intracting with people around  us and we feel that there is something  really common among us.

It’s basically  our electrons matching  to each other which is practically  true ;we like other person  and start mingling  with them because  we share common  interests and those interests  give us the topics to communicate  more..  The more the communication is the more the bond becomes strong…

Friendship  usually  becomes strong when we get emotionally  very connected  with someone which means we empathise with each others situation or feelings…

Friendship  is something  which should  be cherished  forever not with everyone obviously  but with the most close ones. Because  we are social  animals Its very necessary  for us to have friends .freinds always  add value  to your  life. You grow with your friends , you learn many things from each other,  you tend to share your feelings  and experiences with each other you spend your very precious  moments  with them,  sometimes  you tend to know your friend more than your friends knows themself.

Friendship is an amazing feeling  and having awesome  friends is god’s gift to you……

Cherish all your beautiful friendship  memories  today and have a wonderful day…….

Leh Ladakh Itinerary

Firstly you have to decide : for how many days are you planning to visit . I would suggest you should make a plan of min 5 days and max depends on your leaves and budget. We had taken a 12 days trip From Delhi- Manali- Leh- Srinagar- Delhi ( this is known as the full circuit) You can also prefer either one as well Delhi- Manali- Leh- Manali  Delhi or Delhi- Srinagar- Leh- Srinagar- Delhi.

Some folks also take a flight to Leh directly and then try to visit the nearby places , well here what I think is when you come by flight it becomes very difficult for you to acclimatize with the place.

12 days Itinerary

Delhi – Manali – 12 hrs by road

Manali (2 N)

Keylong / Sarchu (1 N)

Leh (2 N)

Nubra (1 N)

Pangong (1N)

Srinagar (1 N)

Delhi (1 N)

5 days Itinerary ( If you are directly reaching Leh airport)

Leh (1 N)

Nubra (1 N)

Pangong (1N)

Tso Moriri (1N)

Leh (1 N)

According to the number of places you are planning to visit increase the number of days.

The best time to visit Ladakh starts from last week of May to first week of October, because after that the climate starts becoming harsh and its very difficult to travel because of the snowfall.

We travelled From 1st -12th June 2018 and we found the most of the roads were clear of snow ( all thanks to the Border road organisation [BRO] team). In our trip we had members travelling from Mumbai, Bangalore , Faridabad and Gurugram. We all reached Delhi by either flights , train and by road. We were 12 members (10 adults and 2 kids). We were travelling in 2 cars, 1 rented and 1 owned car.

You need to take permit if you are renting a car/bike from each state you are travelling . Because we were travelling through 6 States and UTs (Delhi, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh , Ladakh, Kashmir ,Jammu )we had to get permits from all. For some states it’s a time consuming process while for others its fast.

Day 1 :We all reached Delhi from our respective places and  started from Delhi at midnight.

Day 2 (530 km) in the evening We drove slowly , taking turns because the person who is driving also feels extremely tired, nevertheless the thrill of the journey keeps you going. We stayed at Manali that night.

Day 3: The next day we stayed in Manali and explored the place  ( check must things to do in Manali).

Day  4 : We started early morning 4 am from Manali to reach Rohtang pass by 9 am . There was a long queue near the pass because of the tourist . The early you reach the less the queue . we spent almost 3 hours in the queue. From Rohtang (62 km from manali)  we reached Keylong by 5 pm (60 km from Rohtang) and Sarchu by 9 pm (60 km from Rohtang)-.8 am and 12 pm from Sarchu ( as the two cars were split because the rented car broke down).

Day 5 :We started from Keylong  by  8 am and Sarchu by 12 pm ( as the two cars were split because the rented car broke down) and reached Leh by 8 pm . Total distance covered (357.2 km)

Day 6 : We took rest at Leh and explored Leh market

Day 7 : We travelled from Leh to Nubra in 5 hours   (161 km) and stayed there over night

Day 8 : Nubra valley  to Pangong took us another 8 hours  (275 km) and we stayed there overnight.

Day 9 : We travelled from Pangong to Leh in  6 hours  (225 km) and took some rest

Day 10 : We started from Leh Early morning 3 am and reached Srinagar by evening 4 pm

Day 11 : departed from Srinagar early morning to reach Jammu 3pm and took an overnight bus from Jammu to Delhi

Day 12: We all reached to our respective cities from Delhi

This is how we travelled the full circuit of Leh Ladakh trip. To know more click on the respective days to read more adventures.

Fun fact is even if you are feeling sleepy during the trip which is very common , your mind will try to keep you awake because of the super picturesque landscape as it changes every now and then and you wouldn’t wanna miss any..

I miss you

I miss you…….

A well felt emotion when a loved one leaves or their absence. Basically, you start missing the presence of a person which you were so habituated with. Being with someone is sometimes very addictive. You tend to depend on that person for certain things and when the person is absent you miss then.

Sometimes we even miss ppl who we never imagined would make a difference in our life. Why does this happen?? I think somewhere down the line each m every person who surrounds us has some or the other effect on our daily life, it may not bemajor but everyone has some influence on each other.

Once a while you smile, or sob or repent of cherish the moments you spent together when you think about your loved one or the one you miss. You tend to bring out all your memories and emotions you once felt with that person.

Most of the time we forget to express our emotions to our loved ones, or when we do it’s not exactly the same intensity what we feel.

I have been staying away from my family for 9 years now… Long-time indeed…  But still every single day I miss my parents. I miss their presence in my small daily habits…  I also go through a nostalgia every day in some or the other thing I do which makes me feel the absence of their presence. Also, I have realised that when you miss someone you actually respect their value in your life which is a worthwhile.

I mean it’s okay to miss someone…  It’s okay to remember them…  It’s okay to be you with ten for some time at least in your memories….

So, as I always say enjoy every emotion because every emotion makes you a different you….

Feel and cherish…… Live every moment. 😇😇😇😇

Unfairly;fair

Sometimes life seems to be really unfair when everything and everyone are disappointed with you. This usually happens with everyone over a period of time.

Some days ; the day itself starts with a very disappointing wakeup call or when your alarm doesn’t ring or when you overslept. And then all the unexpected things start happening one by one which seems like a queue of bad luck.  But do you really think that happened because of your bad morning….  Nah not at all… It’s just the series of activities which followed because of the one negative thought which touched your so-called fresh morning which you think ruined your whole day.

Just for instance today my morning started with a very disturbing nightmare which made me wake up suddenly, which caused a late workout routine, followed by delayed overall routine and a late mark at office……  Then came my boss who was screaming at me all day long for no reason……

All these circumstances just spoilt my day as I explained but the reality is none of it is to related….  My nightmare is not at all related to my annoyed boss…. These were all the things which were supposed to happen to me today to make me learn many things at each moment but instead of realising what good was happening to me I was just focusing on the negative parts of my life.

It is very easy to think negative and brood on the things which are not happening.

You seem to be very irritated at every single thing and everyone when actually you are disappointed with yourself as in “why did this happen to Me at this point of time when things were going right”.  Well, that happens to teach you the value of good things that happened with you because you only need light when you are light deprived. This goes the same with our life as well.

When you start feeling negative, irritated and disappointed just ask yourself that are your positivity deprived?? And trust me every time your answer will be yes.

So now is the time to stop brooding and look around you are surrounded with unlimited positivity. Absorb the positive energy and love your life. Then everything will be unfairly fair as it was and will be
